About Me

I’m a NJ woodworker in love with the smell of sawdust, the sight of wood grain, and the progressively finer feel of sandpaper.

My Story

Graphic Designer with too many hobbies

Hi! I’m Evan. My last name is Coury, and it works surprisingly well with giving names to my hobbies like Coury Cuts, Coury Country (which is my YouTube channel), Coury Calligraphy, Coury Combs (which is coming soon)… I think you get the point. I’m a full time graphic designer, currently working in a marketing position. With so much time spent on computers, I try to find hobbies that can pull me away from the screens for a little bit. My woodworking started when my wife (then fiance) Liz, and I bought our first place together. It came with a 1 car garage, which I fought to the death for, and with little to no actual fighting involved, I turned it into a wood shop. I caught on pretty quick, and started surprising even myself with some of the pieces I was producing. I give all the credit for my creative juices to my Pop-Pop. My knack for picking up on hobbies and running full speed with them is one of the greatest  gifts I ever got from him. About 3 years later, I finally feel comfortable enough to openly sell my pieces, not just to friends and family. (Though they may or may not get first dibs on things.)
